ABOUT US
Every city has a unique historical landmark. For Durban, it is The Workshop – an iconic, heritage-rich building embraced by the bustling, vibrant heart of the CBD.
The Workshop has made strides since 1860, transformed from a railway workshop into a modern shopping centre. As times changed, so did The Workshop. Safety upgrades, expansion and rigorous renovations have restored, replenished and shaken off the dust to reveal a brand new shopping experience. The character and charm of a bygone era is complemented by state-of-the-art finishes, resulting in a remarkable contrast of vintage and vogue.
In addition to a wide choice of luxury brands, top national retailers and popular eateries, The Workshop boasts the best bunny chow in Durban and the largest curio shop in South Africa. Many of Durban’s main attractions are situated within walking distance from the centre, including the Durban City Hall, the ICC, Moses Mabhida Stadium and The Playhouse Theatre.
Today, The Workshop has a whole new vibe, moving to the rhythm of a thriving city and its people. World traveller, adventure seeker or local visitor, everyone is welcome at The new Workshop.
